Floris and Floortje did everything together. Floris was a very curious, cheeky rabbit and loved to be stroked on your lap. He also fell asleep on my lap a couple of times. Everybody liked Floris and Floris liked everyone! Floortje was not very happy around people. You could stroke her, but nothing more than that, but she was completely in love with Floris. Every day they spent a couple of hours in the run. With nice weather outside, on cold or wet days in the spare room. Floris also liked to help cleaning out the hutches by jumping in the binbag...or gnawing though my shoe laces...

Then just after Christmas 4 years later, Floris wouldn’t eat anymore (gas) and despite all kinds of efforts we were not able to save his life.

So Floortje was alone for the first time in her life. Floortje never accepted another rabbit. The guinea pigs that she liked when Floris was there, she now attacked. Never ill when Floris was there, she now got health problem after health problem until she also stopped eating 10 months later. This time I did have simethicone for gas so I gave her that. Fortunately she started eating that evening. The next morning she was lying in her water bowl, I knew she wasn’t going to get through this. Started with the simethicone and metacam again but one hour later she died too. At least she went peacefully without pain and not like Floris. I buried her next to her Floris.
