ROSIE the rabbit finally hopped back into the arms of her loving owner yesterday.
After escaping from a backyard enclosure in Preston on Easter Sunday, Rosie was taken in by the Lost Dogs' Home. Owner Ineka, 6, and father Carlos were amazed when they saw Rosie's picture in the Herald Sun on Tuesday.
Carlos said Ineka recognised Rosie's ears and nose. "I didn't think it would be our rabbit -- there was no way in the world, because you don't know what can happen. "But amazingly it was her," he said. "My daughter picked it a mile away."
After a distraught Easter, Ineka was over the moon to be reunited with her bunny.
"She's fantastic now. We are very lucky to have found her," Carlos said. Rosie, and Ineka's other rabbit, Maggie, are now both microchipped and closely watched.
