Skittles needs new home ASAP

Hello! My name is Dana Kovach, and I am the rescue coordinator for the Scott County (KY) Humane Society.

Currently, our local shelter has a New Zealand rabbit that is in immediate danger of being euthanized. She was found as a stray in a local apartment complex. The person who brought her to the shelter tried to find her owner before bringing her to the shelter, but she had no luck. She was calling her Skittles. No one has come to the shelter to claim her either. I am attaching her picture.

If you can help her or know of anyone who can, please contact me ASAP.

Tiny Dutch baby girl found injured and near death

Posted in Life in a Shelter by marie on Mon, 2007-03-26 18:55

I received the call around noon from a frantic person who had found a tiny baby that was seriously injured - This extremely ill Dutch baby was found abandoned in her back yard -the baby bunny was in shock and unable to move. The bunny is very lucky that she was found -just in time- and saved. We estimate that the baby had only hours to live without treatment.

The person who found her located our number as she had just picked up the debut edition of Silicon Valley tails at a nearby shop (that ad just happened to have come out the day before!). Our big blue ad caught her attention. This good Samaritan had no idea what to do or where to take her new found desperately injured baby bunny. So she called for our help.

Forres Gazette, Published:  08 November, 2006

A FORRES veterinary nurse is appealing for a home for an abandoned female baby rabbit, which was handed in at the practice where she works.

Student nurse Elizabeth Boyall said that the rabbit, which has been named Cilla, was handed in about two weeks ago, after it was discovered by two women on the road between Forres and Grantown.

(by Carl Butler, Daily Post)

A WOMAN who sold her sports car to fund her rescue centre for rabbits has been forced to close it down.

Katie Bowden, 25, reluctantly shut Bowden Bunny Rescue (Flintshire, UK) and is looking for homes for 14 rabbits in her care.

She is keeping four rescue rabbits which would be too difficult to re-home.

She says without donations or sponsors she just cannot afford to look after any more.
