Oh.. how cute, that’s the remark often received when we have very young rabbits in our shelter. And indeed, they are very cute to watch. Innocent and very curious they hop around in their hutches.
But a lot of people do forget that small rabbits will get bigger and maybe even bigger than they would have expected. Here you see a bunch of young bunnies, who where born in our shelter.
and now after a couple of weeks they look already somewhat different. Look at those ears… they are huge and it tells you that these bunnies will become big bunnies.
Nothing wrong with that ofcourse, but bigger bunnies need more space to hop and will eat more and ofcourse need a bigger hutch.
And this is how these cute little bunnies will look when they have matured.
